My wife can walk only a few steps and now uses a wheelchair most of the time. This winter we would like to get away somewhere warm, but we don't want to stay in a big noisy resort. The accommodation must have a bathroom for a disabled person, and if it had an accessible heated pool that would be a bonus.

For many years I have recommended the C&A Tourist Apartments in Polis on the north-west coast of Cyprus. The 19 studios and apartments are all accessible, and tried and tested by the owner, Chris Neophytou, who is wheelchair-bound. The outdoor pool has a hoist and is heated to 28C in winter. Chris's brother takes excursions around the island in an accessible minibus. There's also a beachside promenade, designed for wheelchair users, to the fishing village of Latchi.
A week costs €385 (£345) for two people sharing a studio apartment on a self-catering basis. There are also packages including breakfast and dinner. See www.ca-tourist-apts.com.cy
I should like to hear from other wheelchair users who have found good hotels and resorts for winter holidays.
